This is just incredible how easy it is to forget and not notice what is happening all over the world. Due to the area in which we are born we do not think about what happens around us. I listen to the news on the way to school every morning and I still feel as if I have no idea what is actually happening around the world. As said in the video, troops were sent a while ago and this is a news article by ABCnews saying that Obama signed a Recovery Act to oppose Kony’s actions in MAY of 2010. I just wish we did not take our lives for such granted. I am more a participant in this than most and one must blame he or herself for this but I can say that this mentality is too present in our specific society.

someone had to post.

someone had to post.:
Interesting how one video can create a whole social movement.Tragedy has a way of provoking and I guess we all need to be more aware of the tragedy in this world.

The Last King of Scotland.

The Last King of Scotland is a truly amazing movie about the war and conflicts in Uganda at the time of military leader Amin. The tale told by the movie is that of the coming to power of dictator Amin. We observe the events taken place at the time of his ruling the first person view of an outside character, Dr. Nichola Garrigan, who starts off as a volunteer doctor for a medical clinic in Uganda and is then hired to be Amin’s aid after having created a certain person connection with him. At the beginning of the movie we see Amin as powerful generous character but through the movie one sees a completely contradictory side of this leader. This movie really portrays the certain sorrow of what had taken place at the time the movie presents. Milton Obote, the political leader who was overthrown by the coup d’état Amin executed, had created Ugandan independence from the clutches of British colonialism. Amin overthrows this government to create a dictatorship full of murder, corruption and xenophobia. It depicts the horror of what happened during this period, how serious, how real, all of what we (students) learn is. At the end of the movie it indicates that during this dictatorship there were over 300000 Ugandan murders. This is a very dramatic and intense movie that really helps you understand the situations of “Third-World Countries”.

Mitt Romney wins.

The History of Athletics.

The History of Athletics.:
:(

The Green Party strongly opposes a military attack on Iran

The Green Party strongly opposes a military attack on Iran:
I wish things could actually be like this.

This movie illustrates the hardship of being in Berlin at the time of the cold war. With the Stasi overruling the East side of Berlin there was a strict security throughout this side of Berlin. Through this movie we see the widespread terror evoked through this State Security and really how strict this politic was. Whoever and whenever someone was seen as disloyal or as slightly rebellious they were arrested and severely questioned during this time. This movie is mainly centered around the artist Georg Dreyman and how simply because the Stasi has acquired a bad vibe about him they set up an intense and rigorous supervision system within his house without his knowing to spy on him and hopefully arrest him for some kind of “wrong-doing”. This was not only a bad vibe but it was actually the doing of a man with high power wanting Georg Dreyman’s girlfriend and so if able to arrest him then she would have no choice but to be with him unless she wanted her acting privileges revoked. This idea that Georg Dreyman’s was simply being spied on for the sexual benefit of someone of high power in the GDR indicates the corruption within the Stasi. To conclude, we observe through this movie an intense depiction of what was going on in East Berlin at the time of the cold war. Not only was it ridiculously out of line but it was a very extreme situation. This movie also indicates that there were some that rebelled and tried to help even within the Stasi, maybe with severe consequences but there were still some that knew the wrongs within the system.

Is Europe as stable as we have learned?

Is Europe as stable as we have learned?:
The European Union is definitely one of the largest powers of the world with the other members of the Triade. This said though we can see that the United States are not the only ones in deep financial problems. We can maybe observe and so illustrate that the European Union itself is also in a large crisis concerning many of its’ members who are going into deep debt. This is all said but it seems that the European Union is trying to fix this problem, just like the United States with bailouts and maybe deepening the problem but they are trying something.

Senator McCarthy tries to find and reject all supposed communists from the American Nation. He does so unjustly in several cases, being the argument of Mr. Murrow. This film is really interesting because it is placed in 1953, right after the World War II and right at the beginning of the Cold War. Even when there was no proof whether or not someone was communist if someone suspected you were in the least you were immediately convicted. This not only shows the tension between the East and West but it also shows that the East was not the only side making certain threats, the U.S. was hunting down all communists within their boundaries even if they did not follow the certain laws of communism but simply had some kind of connection to communism.

Video of groups finding random missiles in unsecured bases..

Video of groups finding random missiles in unsecured bases..

Simply rediculous

Simply rediculous:
In Libya there have been missiles discovered in different random places.
